Steven Gaynes, APR (Accredited Public Relations) Professional
Fairfield, Connecticut based, Steven Gaynes, president of Steven Gaynes Communications, is a high-energy communications expert with more than 30 years of experience in public relations. He is an excellent publicist and writer, focusing on strategic planning and new product promotion. Steve’s business has evolved into areas like residential and commercial real estate, financial services (private equity/real estate asset management); hospitality and tourism, healthcare, consumer, academia, general business-to-business and technology.
For specific clients, Steve recently developed and is implementing a comprehensive marketing plan for a Torrington, CT, second home condominium development and is working with a residential real estate investment advisor in Westport, CT on media relations and special events to build her broker brand. He recently began working with BirthRoad Surrogacy Specialists in Fairfield, a new organization bringing together couples and surrogates and is assisting an interior designer with web writing and promotion of a new concierge part of her business.
More recently, he co-wrote a table-top history book and handled all media relations for a Lyme, CT automotive and marine business celebrating its 150th anniversary. Steve and a strategic partner from Dallas handled media relations and branding for a New Orleans architect. And he assisted Hilton Hotels with the introduction of an online meeting planning/wedding planning site.
In 2008, he managed all media relations and the onsite press room for the first U.S. Airline Interiors Exposition in Long Beach, CA on behalf of Reed Exhibitions’ UK office. He also handled publicity projects for The DeSai Group, innovation experts, based in West Hartford, Conn.
On the writing side, Steve has been a columnist for more than 21 years at his local newspaper, The Fairfield Citizen News, covering a variety of subjects. He has also been a freelance writer for regional business publications, daily newspapers and an e-zine, hotelinteractive.com, which covers the real estate, hospitality and financial aspects of the hospitality industry. He is considering a blog as well.
Steve taught public relations and advertising, as well as consumer behavior as an adjunct professor on the graduate level at New York University for 10 years. He also developed a six-course certificate program in public relations for the University of Connecticut, Stamford Campus and is a regular guest lecturer at various colleges on subjects like public relations and research.
His volunteer and pro-bono publicity experience includes Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, Connecticut Make a Wish Foundation and A Quilt Exhibition, Fabrics and Fabrications 2009. |
